Human ERK2/MAPK1, recombinantly expressed in E. coli. Highly active form produced by phosphorylation of the purified ERK2/MAPK1 in vitro with MEK1 followed by subsequent affinity chromatography. Molecular weight based on amino acid sequence 44.6 kDa. Purity > 95% (SDS PAGE). Specific activity > 175.000 Units/mg (1 Unit = 1 pmol/min transferred to myelin basic protein at 30 degree C). No protease activity detectable.
