Background: KN62 is a selective and potent inhibitor of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII, Ki ~900nM). KN-62 inhibits growth of K562 cells in a dose-dependent manner and may stimulate the CaMK II-mediated release of GABA in cerebrospinal fluid.
