Background: Tyrphostin AG 825 is an Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase inhibitor which is selective for Her2 over Her1 (IC50 values are 150 nM and 19 µM respectively). Preferentially triggers p38 MAP kinase-dependent apoptosis in androgen-independent prostate cancer cells.
